In
the Garage
August is now coming to an end and although it's
been a crappy one weather wise, it's been another good month for Burnham Autos.
It's not been such a good month for me (Tom, the News Editor) however with my Zephyr packing up while i was giving it a
bit too much on an empty road over in Wales (living in London, you get excited when you finally
get onto a quiet road!). I managed to get it home on 5 cylinders and Paul's warned me to be
prepared for the worst, going on to suggest, "If we gotta rebuild your engine, what about putting
something bigger in?" Then talking about borrowing something from a Mustang.... this one's really
got me thinking!
Dan (son of Dave the Paint) has just finished his 1600 (not!) Capri and is now wearing some real
subtle body mods which include electric rear spoiler, and a custom made interior which includes
stainless steel panels...

Long time friend Mr Len brought out his mini
sprint for an airing. It has been chopped 1 1/4in above the gutter, 1 1/2in through the glass
and 1 1/2in through the body... This is a cool little Mini and yes it is low!

Perry's 1964 Buick came out despite the rain.
This week the big block wears a new cam, new aluminium heads and a Weiland blower... Seemed to go
OK when he came through the gate sideways!

Chris Baines' '70's Cadillac is fresh out of
Viking Paint Works (01474 822350) with its new coat of gold paint after we removed various rusty
bits, half a vinyl roof and the side trim. This car is 8ltrs and front wheel drive - what were
GM thinking?!
