Long Term Projects
News reached the garage recently that Ray Hunt
had been involved in an accident involving his Plymouth Devil Coupe. Fortunately there were no
other vehicles involved and Ray was travelling alone. He wasn't hurt (Happy Days Ray), just a bit
shaken up. So as is customary at Burnham Auto's he has had and will continue to have the mickey
taken, just a bit!
So as not to let the side down, this page has been dedicated to UK's first entry into the 2012
Olympics, in the Automotive Gymnastics category!
Ray had an unfortunate aquaplaning incident which saw the Coupe leave the road after a 180 degree
turn, hitting the offside kerb which flipped the car into a triple somersault coming to rest 25
feet down a 45 degree bank, the right way up! Now that's got to be a 9.5 if I ever saw one. After
some gentle persuasion the car made it's way back to the roadway and after careful inspection, it
was found there were no mechanical breakages just superficial body damage and some extra
pinstriping courtesy of the trees. It was then driven back to the workshop and should soon be
back on the road complete with battle scars.

Windscreen removed to allow repair to leading
edge.

One fender has already been replaced. Note the
tree created "patina".

Headers took a battering, however the chassis
and suspension were not damaged.
Paul's Buick
Paul has found a few hours to take off the front
fenders of his Buick for an update he's been planning since he had the idea while filming Panic
Mechanics. The plan was to add hand formed peaked headlamps. This is just as mock-up at present
but it gives the idea. They will look great once fitted and painted in Paul's patented Satan
Black, was there ever any doubt?
