Short Term Projects
The
1958 Chevy Truck (pictured above) with a 1957 front has
been fitted with a Series 2 Jaguar Front Clip and a 76
Firebird Rear Axle. These were chosen as they are the
most "user friendly" and because this beauty
is a rolling restoration and is used daily! The truck
also features the original 283 mated to a TH 350, the
original bench seat and a Cadillac Tilt Column for
comfort. The exhaust system is custom built on site and
used the owner supplied mufflers. Burnham Autos can
custom (remember that word, we use it a lot!) fit
exhausts from the headers to the rear on just about any
vehicle and in sizes up to 3 inches in diameter. Call
for a quote. This vehicle will be leaving us this
month.
Another
vehicle leaving this month is this 1954 Chevy. This 1970's
Custom has been treated to a 4 inch roofchop. The glass
is original and the windscreen was cut using a
revolutionary new process which saved the owner
splashing out on a bespoke item. So instead of buying,
we Customised.

Finally for this
month in Short Term we have a V8 Ford Pilot. This
veteran is called California Dreamin' and was featured
in Hot Rod & Custom UK and Custom Car magazines in
1978. It's in this month to have a Custom Spare Wheel
Carrier fitted. The wheel to be used will be midway
between front and rear sizes so that in an emergency
could be used on either. The Pilot features a polished
Chevy 302 with TPi, a 9 inch Ford Rear and Custom
Interior. Please note that all interiors are covered
to protect them during their stay with us. This car
will be one of the Burnham Autos Cars featured at the
up and coming Xtreme Wheels Show in February. See next
months' Burnham Diaries for Show Photos.
